Hey GT can you help me with a problem I have ,? I bought a 2011 used 2500 SLT the other day when I got the build sheet it said that the truck has a 5.7 VCT engine when I thought I was getting a VVT engine. and what is the difference in horse power bewteen the two engines..
Thank you.

There is no power difference. The only difference you need to be concerned with is your engine does not have MDS where as the 1500 Hemi does. That is the only difference.

the 2500s are rated at 383hp and 400tq vs the 1500s which are rated at 390hp and 407tq. I'd say it's a wash.

Its a programming difference. Peak tourqe is slightly lower, but the peak is also lower in the rpm range for better towing.

it would make sense that the hp and tq peaks are lower for the 3/4 ton since it was designed for heavier loads but I've never been able to find any literature or dyno charts on it.
