Here is the press my neighbor has:

http://www.harborfreight.com/6-ton-a...ress-1666.html

He says he has a dial indicator as well.

Oh the video was just on youtube. It wasn't very good just showed me the insides, so it gave me a good visual of how it all goes together. It wasn't very good in detail on what to do or anything. More of a schematic lol.

That is by far the best video I've seen about the diff setups, very well explained, even goes into some of the minor trouble shooting which most don't. He couldn't really go into great depth about the torque settings, backlash, and pinion depth, simply because it is different for EVERY differential and some have tighter tolerances compared to others. If you have a Hanes or a factor service manual then you have all that info. If not, call up the local dealerships service center to get the info.

Cool, I thought that video seemed good. The chrysler 9.25" uses threaded adjusters though, not shims, correct?

And for the pinion, the 9.25" uses a crush sleeve I'd assume?

Me and a friend of mine do all of the work to our vehicles except gears lol. There is a reason to take it to a professional. I wouldn't take to any shop except for one that I personally know that is knowledgeable on gear swaps. I don't trust anyone with my RAM yet for gears lol.

Have you called your dealer to get those prices? I know on my 2011 im in the middle of 4.10 an rt lsd swap an an just the gears an diff were 640$ shipped. (wermopar.com) is your best friend for oem mopar parts. That was the cheapest i found. Also im with the other guy for the 175$-200$ id let someone do it with a shop an knowledge. Reason being even they mess up from time to time but when they do it they'll fix it.

What do you mean for $200? I was quoted $1,600. Now that's with a $600 eaton true trac, but still with oem LSD it'd be $1350ish.

OEM LSD is ~$325 IIRC. Gears are ~$200 or less I think(haven't looked in a while). Labor quote is roughly $500.

So doing it myself I'd save a ton of money, and gain the knowledge/skill so next time I can know how to do it.
