Default RHB Navigation Map Update

Has anyone tried updateing their maps with a garmin update dvd? The installed map is "OEM City Navigator North America+Mexico 2011" They have "nüMaps Onetime™ City Navigator® North America NT 2012 " download or DVD at this site https://buy.*******.com/shop/shop.do?cID=290&pID=98175(insert garmin for ****) $50 sounds better than $150. Its the same map, it's still Garmin GPS, seems like they should be able to make it work. Don't see why we have to go through NAVTEQ to get the update to go in a Garmin unit for a Chrysler Product. Just another middle man to get in on the piece of pie.

FYI, he has a 2011 Ram. You already have the latest nav update for the 2012.

Thanks. Was curious because my garmin nuvi has lifetime updates and the maps are definitely more up to date than the truck

the Mygig radios that dodge uses are at least 3 years between updates
whether it is Garmin or Navteq

When you ask for an update, ask what the RELEASE DATE was
it may be the exact same update that you already have
$147 + shipping + taxes, comes to $179 & maybe worth 1/2 of that

Get a Garmin NUVI with Free lifetime maps & traffic

you will know it when you see a number w/ LMT after it
