Default A Tribute to my 09 Ram, which is now gone

as trade in for an 07 Corvette convertible. Yes, I couldn't help myself. I've wanted a Vette since I was a kid.

Not to fear Ram fans. I still have my 96 Ram w/ Cummins which only has 125k mileage. So I'm still part of the club & have a great truck. It's just not as new or as much fun to drive. Though my wife tells me she likes the looks of the 96 better than the 09.

I have driven pickups all my life due to the nature of my business. Let me tell you, if you could only have one vehicle, the 09 crew cab Hemi I traded for the Vette would be the one to have. I'm sure the same could be said of the later models. My 09 was the best driving and handling truck I've driven. The power was great, especially with the Predator tune @ 93 Octane. ( now 4 sale) It was more like driving a car than a pickup. I enjoyed driving it which is not something I thought I might say after driving pickups for 40 yrs.

I say Kudos to Dodge for making such a great pickup. Before getting my 96, I owned Chevys. The Dodge outclassed them in every way. Before I bought the 09, I drove a Chevy & Ford. They were nice in their own way. But I still preferred the Dodge by a good margin. I'm thankful for the chance to own and drive the 09 Ram. And IF I ever trade or get rid of the 96 w/ Cummins it will be for another Ram. (Though, the 18city/ 23 hwy mpg in a full size truck would be hard to give up.)

So, for those who may be on the fence about buying the Ram, don't hesitate. Go drive one.

Nice write up and review of the '09, sounds like you made the choice you will be happy with so congrats on the 'Vette and glad to know you'll be sticking around here with your '96 Ram!

Thanks Cajun. I was really impressed by the 09 because it was as much or more fun to drive than the typical car. I usually chose to drive it it over my wife's 06 Toyota Avalon which is a really nice sedan and does not lack for power.

My 96 Ram is a very nice truck. But it is a truck and makes no pretense of being anything else. However it is still a comfortable ride which gets great fuel mileage.
