I found a 2010 crew cab everything the same except it has 16k miles the touch screen radio with u connect. So I find out monday if I am trading in my 2011 quad cab with 43k miles. my '11 has running boards, tonneau cover and a bed liner the '10 does not. I also have the magnaflow y-pipe 18'mufflex, and a 180 degree thermostat. the '10 does not. I am getting the '10 for 27k and they are basically paying my loan off. Does anyone think I am doing the correct thing? With the '10 I can get a programer, which in turn gives me a ton more options with the aftermarket. I am justing looking for more opinions.

I dont know the difference between the 10&11 I love my 09 and would't change it so ignorance is bliss, the bottom line is what feels good to you. I am sure others will give you technical reasons one way or another but it's what your gut tells you.

^^^^ I agree. To answer your question, yes you can get a tuner for the 10, I have the SC cortex and it has made a big difference for me.

Personally I would keep the 11 just because of the drive shaft falling off issue. I'm not saying this effects every 2010 ram but I have seen them appear on the forum in greater number recently. The mileage ranges and I haven't heard of a true preventive fix yet.

However if you feel you have found a good truck I say jump on it. I personally can't go back to a QC truck just because you lose out on a few back seat options not to mention the extra storage/room in the back. In the end it's your choice!

they both look the same, same engine, maybe a different number of gears in the transmission
the 2010 can have a tuner
better radio if you don't have a touch screen

The issue that i see is the EXTENDED WARRANTY, it can't be transferred to you,
you would need a 136 point check, done by the dealer to get a factory extended warranty. ( i am not sure on the number 136, but it is close to that )
You would definitely want an factory backed extended warranty, preferably the Lifetime Maximum Care Warranty

If not having a truck payment is important to you, then do what you need. But if it's only because of not having a tuner/programmer available, which is almost available for the 11's and 12's, like bighemi04 mentioned one website accepting pre-orders, what's a couple of months brother? Your 11 is new and only you know how its been driven. The 2010 yes has only 16K, BUT, was the motor and tranny dogged out, hogged out, or bogged out is the real question.
