I say the diesel, I figured it out and with the interest rate being 1.5% lower even though the truck is 10 grand more, you end up paying less interest over the same length term, the mpg increase saves you a few thousand over a 7-8 year period and the best part is the re sale. So if you buy a half ton for 40 and in 6-7 years its worth 10, but you buy a diesel for 50 and in the same amount of time its still worth 20 than really it didnt cost you anymore than the gas half ton and if anything you may have saved with lower interest and better fuel economy. My next truck will be a diesel, plus they look alot better than the half tons and you get a crew cab with a 6'4" box....

The MPG is better, the power is better, the space is larger, there are more toys (lift, tuner, etc) for it

I would do the damn diesel

Shall I share a pic of lifted cummins?
This is what finalized my decision

Truck 1

Truck 2 - Did I hear you say Mega Cab?
that 2nd truck might be for sale this winter... I read on cummins forums that he might have to sell it for family reasons, says he has over 100k just in parts (I bet closer to 30k but whatever) and said he wants a decent buck for it... I guess no oine told him aftermarket parts are probably worth 25% of their org. value once they have been used.... It does look good as it is in that pic, I dont like the look of it with the bumpers and chit he put on after

Damn!

I don't understand why people spend that kind of money on a vehicle without having "family reasons" taken care of first....

That is a nice looking truck though. But really......100k in parts? Heck even if it's 30k in parts, I didn't even spend close to that on my whole truck lol.

You live in the city right? do you have something else (smaller) to drive? I have driven a 1-ton chevy crew cab (farm truck) through downtown Dallas, and let me tell you...better hope you dont have to park anywhere. These gargantuan trucks are ok on the highway and farm country...not so much in the city/suburbs. When my folks sold the farm and moved to the suburbs, we had to do a 3 point turn to get that truck in the driveway. Ended up it went to my dad's brother (who bought the farm from us).
O have a 2012 R1 to ride, the Camaro if NEED be and I can always take my dads truck or moms Honda if there was a situation my motorcycle failed me. Im in the middle of a suburb, but surprisingly trucks dont seem to be too hard to get around in . My friend in his 2012F250 w/ 6" and 35s never really seems to have a problem

that second truck is a good start. Make it white, lift it a little more and put it on 40" swampers and you have my ideal truck lol

I bet hes got 100K into it figuring the cost of the truck and 30K in aftermarket parts. A loaded mega like fully loaded can creep up to 70K real easy if you arent paying attention and dont wanna haggle with the dealership

I dont know how he figured 100k... maybe the truck plus parts, but because most of the parts on that truck were through sponsor ship I would even pay 25% of their value because he didnt pay their full value. He wrote that he needed something with 6-7 seats so maybe he knocked up his wife and it ended up being twins, would suck to build up a truck like that and have to get rid of it not even a year later.

ya we get raped up here for a truck that is the exact same lol If I was in the market for a new snowmobile I would be heading across the border and saving a few thousand, not in the market though, would consider it for a vehicle but you lose warranty on a brand new one right away
