Default 295/50/20 on 20 inch Chrome Clads on 4th Gen Ram

Any body got 295/50/20 on 20 inch Chrome Clads on 4th Gen?

I'm 2wd stock suspension.

Wondering about rubbing (it's 11.6 wide, but only 31.6 tall).

Pics?

I know i've touched on the subject for 2 years now since I bought my truck in 2010. But it's a damn shame the Chrome Clads did not come with an extra 1/2 inch of negative offset so we could fit wider tires without spacers. Those 9 inch wide rims would have been perfect with +0 offset so you could fit 305/55/20 and even 325/50/20 tires with no spacers, lifts or mods.

I'm pretty certain you can't fit anything wider than 285 on the newer third gen and fourth gen trucks without rubbing on the UCA. I have also read about guys putting 305s on and only experiencing slight rubbing when turning.....so maybe even if the 295s did rub it would only be at or near full lock.

I had 305/55's cooper zeon ltz on the stock chrome with only rubbing on the sway bay close to full lock no control arm rub. They fit the same without the level and with made no difference. I have a 2wd. I have 285/60 dura Trac that would have probably fit with the chrome wheelsbut I.had already sold them. I have a +13mm on the new wheels but it is close so I would say that a 295 on stock wheels would.probably rub the sway bar at lock.

I went with the Nitto Trail Grapplers 295/55 R20 on the original rims. I did have to use a 1/4" spacer cuz it was rubbing due to the wall tread that sticks out on the back of the tire. I leveled with performex 2.5". The width is what gets you not the height. If I would have gone with a the terra grapplers it wouldn't have rubbed but i wanted a more aggressive looking tire plus I drive on caliche roads to get to my worksite. I have more pics in profile.
