Not enough!!!
especially the old version.
I tested in Miami this year the 2012 ram with the 310 hp engine, so mine is ... not enough Lol!

Yeah I hear you. My dad has the older 4.7L in his 05 and I have the newer 4.7L in my 2010. It's like day and night, especially with the tune. Still it's a good truck engine, 300lb ft of torque is plenty in a light duty truck.

yes, you're right.
But tell me if I'm wrong or not, it seems hat the old version looks stronger at low rpms... right or just my imagination?

Not sure what they look like side by side on a dyno graph, but my dad has a 2005 single cab with 3.55's, I have a 2010 quad cab with 3.55's, and mine is stronger at all rpms. I also have an aftermarket torque converter, tune, and intake, but even stock I would say it was stronger at all rpms.

I also have larger aftermarket wheels and tires, ~31" and his are more like ~28" IIRC, and significantly lighter. So he has a gearing advantage and weight advantage but my truck still feels stronger. It has 75 more hp and 35 more lb ft stock. With the mods I probably have more like 100 more hp than him and 65 more lb ft.

Yeah the new v6 is not bad, but I'm still not overly impressed with it. I believe once they put the turbo(s) on it then I will be impressed with it...

As of now, I'd take the 4.7L over the v6 every time. Even with the worse transmission.

I'm starting to get sick of trying to make big heavy trucks fast with small displacement engines lol. My father and I are starting to put together our F100 soon(built a 300cid inline six for it previously) and we finally agreed on a 460cid. "thank the lord for the big block ford". lol

Displacement is by far the easiest/cheapest power. I gotta say though, I've been around a bunch of hot rod inline six guys and watching a little six cylinder power a 10 second 1/4 mile car is impressive. The v8 guys sure get upset when they lose to a little six shooter . I gave in though and we are taking the easy route with the bent 8. All my six parts are currently up for sale Some of them haven't been made for a loooong time...
