Default Engine Code P0441

Truck threw this code P0441. After reading other threads and doing a little research I figured I would try the cheapest fixes first. Changed gas cap and LDP (Leak Detection Pump) purchased both on ebay, MOPAR parts. Total cost $60.00. Took 20 minutes or so to replace both. So far no return of engine code after 100 miles. Maybe this will help some one, could be I got lucky but better than going to repair place or dealer.

2003 Ram 1500 4.7l.

90% of the time one of these two will handle the P0441 but remember, there's always that other 10%.

Probably was the LDP. P0440 is often a leak(bad seal at the cap, or dry rotted hoses). Thanks for posting!

I had a P0440 on my wife's aveo and a $7 cap fixed it. Is getting better mpg now slightly, I think the fuel was evaporating when sitting. The inside of the gas cap door was always "gunky" and after replacing the cap it doesn't get like that. The fuel must have been evaporating.
