The update that I have the link for is the exact same update that the dealer has. It's not something that someone just made up and then decided to hand out. As I said, I've had over 1,00 downloads of the update. Just to make sure that you are doing the correct update (V1 or V2) I need to have the build date of the vehicle. Thanks

Manufacture date is 12-10. Which update should I use? I'll try it again.

This is the one that you should be using:

Give it a shot. I had used the Samsung GIII for a couple of weeks with no issues. I think that I have a co worker with the Droid Bionic that I can also try out. I'll look into it. In the mean time can you try out this update and let me know what happens? Thanks

So...I ran the update again and had the same problem but embarrassingly believe my iPod cable is bad. I switched it out tonight and will find out tomorrow if that fixes the switching issue I was having.

The quality of the Bluetooth playback, however, is still very tinny and distorted. Sounds almost like all my speakers are blown but only when playing thru Bluetooth. IPod/radio etc is good.

Hmm, I had thought that you tried a different cable. That could cause an issue like you're having.
Once you know that the system is working correctly then you'll want to perform the new update that I listed yesterday. It is only for the streaming audio sound quality and can only be applied after the first update. The link is below & see post #23. It's performed the same way as the other update.

UPDATE: Unfortunately the cable was not the issue. I still have random switching from the iPod connection to BT audio or radio. As I mentioned previously, I did not have this issue prior to the "update." Occasionally, the head unit will not recognize the iPod being connected as well. It's starting to feel like the uConnect module went bad with the update.

I'm getting pretty frustrated with the system and may start looking at aftermarket head units...

Thanks for the PM. I'd send you one back but I'm short of the 25 posts required.

I really appreciate all your efforts. I will try and disconnect the module and reconnect to make sure the connectors are snug. If this does not work I may take you up on your offer. What would it cost?

The issue I'm having is really strange and I honestly can't figure out what might be causing it. Again, I appreciate your help.

I've got the GS3 as well. Works great except that it won't audiblize text messages like my GS2 did. My radio is a 730N RHR that was changed from a 430N (long story). Bottom line the GS2 and 430N handled texts perfectly but the GS3 and the 730N doesn't.
The GS3 has been out nearly a year and has sold 20 million world wide. Can't understand why there's no upgrade to fix this.
Any thoughts?
