Default question on the vp44 injector pump

i have been doing some research online and at youtube into the vp44 injector pump and i heard someone say they solved the overheating problem by 1)increasing the fuel pressure to about 14 psi and 2)putting in 1/2" fuel lines into the IP. has anyone else tried this? and if so how has it worked for you? depending on feedback, im seriously considering getting this done to my diesel.

Default Low Fuel Pressure

What is the symptom of overheating? I have a intank lift pump and my upstream fuel pressure is 8 psi at idle and under max load it drops to 5 psi. My warning light flashes on. The lights pressure switch is at the vp44 inlet banjo bolt. I have not had issues but I do plan to put a FASS lift pump and remove the tank lift unit. I do not have any ill symptems to date but i do back off allowing the pressure to satisfy the warning light sender. I am new to this cummins.

from what i have read and seen, the vp44 doesnt pump all the fuel out and the warm fuel that sits inside will eventually cause the circuitry to fail. i havent had any problems with it to date, but i have heard from multiple sources its only a matter of time until it does happen.
a buddy of mine applied the same concept to a dirt racer of his to keep his pump from clogging up. to me it seems like a legit way to make up for the vp44's lack of pressure thereby eliminating the frying of the electrical parts inside the pump. just was trying to see if anyone else had tried this.

easy there boss, just saying that this site I find there is about 90% ram 1500 owners and 10% cummins owners here so there may be better luck over on cumminsforum to finding a member who has the knowledge to answer this question.
