Default 1997v 5.2l stalls at idle.

my 97 5.2 with 5 speed manual transmission stalls when at idle. I've cleaned the IAC and throttle body. And replaced TPS but doesnt seem to work. when driving randomly either the power cuts out or it won go past 3 rpm's. please help

change out ur o2 sensor my 98 5.2 was doing the same thing and that fixed it

I had a similar behavior with my '01.
I ultimately figured out it was the Crankshaft Postion sensor. It's on the right rear of the engine at about the 1:00 position from the top. It's a pain to get to, but it can be done. You will need a 1/2" stubby wrench.
Do not buy a cheapo replacement. The initial one I bought only lasted a year. When I replaced that, I could see where the flywheel was rubbing against it.
