Default Heat

Hello,
I have a 98 dodge ram 1500 with a 5.9, my heater only puts out luke warm heat. I have changed the thermostat, both heater hoses are hot to the touch, the upper radiator hose is hot to the touch, I've tried burping the cooling system, to no avail. Can someone please help?

I wonder if your blend door isn't working fully. I know on my moms ford explorer that broke and we had to manual move it from behind the dash to get either really hot, or really cold air... Just an idea

I just watched a video on you tube about the blend door so I'll have to check that out.

Default Heater

We seem to be having similar problems. My hoses are hot and I burped the air. Even flushed the heater core. Do you get more heat when you throttle it?

Default heater core and doors replacement

i just replaced my heater core. check to make sure that the air is blowing out the vents where it should be windhiled , dash, floor, or where you have it set to if it is the doors are ok . my heater was blowing cool air i flushed it and ran drain cleaner thru it . it had a real good flow of water coming out and never did have any junk that can out of it . i had a door that was not working the one that makes it blow to the floor and i like my feet to be warm so before i tore it down i got a complete set of doors from heater treater and bought a new heater core and ac core i decided to change it all since i had to put it out . replace both the cores ac and heat and all the doors i have heat now like it should be i can feel it blowing thru my boots in the floor now i tried a lot of things before i pulled it but i tell you might as well pull and replace at least the heater core but like i said check to make sure the air is coming out where it is suppose to be for you might need a door and if you do get them before you put it it took me 5hrs to pull it and put it back in but like i said i eplaced all the doors and both cores and 5 hrs later i had hot heat lol it sure feel good to feel hot air
