Default 1997 1500 transmission questions

hey guys, new member here and new ram owner. I had a cpl tranny questions. Have the 318 (5.2) 4x4 with tow package. I am no mechanic but not machanically retarded either try to do most of my own work. My truck runs and shifts great (absolutely no sign of drivetrain issues) at 110,00 miles bought it 104,000 miles. however my concern is with the reputation of the trannys in my generation truck. question #1 - I have had guys swear to me that if I have had no tranny issues NOT to service it (find this hard to believe myself). the argument being new fluids with detergents would create leaks...and I have had guys swear TO have it serviced(which sounds more reasonable to me)...my fluid level has stayed steady and actually looks very clean. Came across paperwork when i bought the truck showing tranny service at 80,000 miles...meaning I'm at 30,000 since the last service..what do you guys think?? question #2 - My wife insisted recently on buying a 24ft camper 4250 pounds dry..have towed it several times locally. will not be traveling cross country or anything, and she has towed it very well. I am worried however pushing this old truck like this may cause me future grief..any input or insight on these questions would be appreciated..thanks

Ive got one a 96 that has right at 210,000 miles on it, and I have pulled way on more than a halfton should and I still do, It dont look quite as nice as yours but its the same body style only in black and not green,
I will still hook up to whatever trailer no matter the weight and take off and never look back, I think your fine with your trailer and these old trucks just seem to keep going..
Not sure about changing the fluids lol I aint even gonna say when mine was done last..

Drive it like a Dodge and it`ll last lol seems like evr vehicle I ever tried to baby and shine and all that kept getting broke,
I have the 96 with a 5.9 and I have a 96 with the 5.2 both are 2 wheel drive, the 5.2 has 225,000 on it and the trans works fine but the fuel pump went bad lol
