I love that little light - I too thought it was just a reflection at first. And like an earlier post, would love to swap it for a red led --- but then I wish the entire dash were red like they use in aircraft. Always wondered why autos us largely the blue-green dash lighting since red has always been considered the best for night vision?

Several of you mentioned change? My Ford F150 had slots in the console for change but I don't have that in my new Ram. Am I missing something here?

Some people, like myself, found the reflection in the pass. side glass annoying. The reflection in the glass is actually off the rectangular chrome bezel around the cup holders & gear selector console. With a little experimentation, I was able to put a small piece of tape on the bezel and the glass reflection was gone and I still had use of the light. For awhile, it bothered me enough to want to disconnect it.

Just my $.02

Some cockpits and control rooms use low level led lighting to keep the operators eyes from dilating thus giving you better sight and alertness at night. In contrast to the sometimes bright dash, which would make you feel like you're staring into a flash light; causing fatigue. Maybe it counteracts that effect?..

My buddies Mom has a Mazda RX-9 and it has a light exactly like that in Red. I've heard Red and certain shades of green are key. We have red LED lighting underneath a shelf inside our Deer blind here in TX. Helps while getting into it early in the AM, and while it's on, you can still see fairly far out into the brush.

Again, I'm not the guy who decided to put them in, but that's the only practical use I could think of. With exception of the guy who mentioned passing the J back and forth. Comes in handy for that as well!! haha
