Default Clicking noise in rear end

So when I was going threw a drive thru this evening, I noticed a clicking noise coming from the rear of my truck. Don't know if its coming from the differential itself, or if its something in the suspension. It does it only when below 5 mph. It'll usually click once when I come to a stop, and once more when I take off. But if I if I keep it at 5mph or under, it'll click every few seconds. Its hard for me to pin point the exact location hanging out of my driver window. Was just curious if anyone has experienced this noise, or knows what it could be. Thanks in advance for any help. -Ian-

I am having the same problem. I notice it mostly right after I back into a parking spot and then take off again. I had the rear end checked and he said it was fine. I would really like to know what the problem is.

I had the same problem so I put the truck on jackstands pulled the wheels off and started the engine and put it in drive and I heard the noise really bad around the drive shaft. I felt of the u joints and they had no slack in them so I pulled the driveshaft out and the rear u joint was locked up on one side. I replaced the u joint. Problem solved! Hope thats all thats wrong with yours. Good luck!!

I second the U-joint diagnosis. When the bearings dry out in the joint they start sticking as the shaft turns, hence the click.
