Default Back spacing

I have a 2010 ram 1500 4x4 with a leveling kit,was thinking of taking the factory 20's off and putting 295/70r17 on a 9 inch rim. Same hight as the factory 275/60 20 but an inch wider. What is the best back spacing so they wont rub but dont stick out to far?

Thanks

You should be fine (outward fitment) with down to a 0 offset, which would be 4.5BS I believe. You don't want to go any higher than about +6 on the offset (for innner clearance)
That will give you just shy of 1/2 inch of more clearance on the inside between the tire and suspension. That should put the tire pretty much flush with the fender w/out flares.

i do believe a +0 is a 5in backspace as my -24 are 4.5in backspace and my -12 that i had were 4.75in backspace, a +6 would be about 5.25 +12 would be 5.5 and +18 would be 5.75 atleast this is the case with 20's

You are correct, 0 offset on a 9" wheel does = 5" BS.

Your -24 should be 4" backspacing though.... assuming its a 9" wide wheel.
For a -24 offset wheel with 4.5" of backspacing you would need a 10" wide wheel.
