Default Tranny weird? Possible problem?

I just got my tranny rebuilt not even 2 weeks ago. Ever since the day that i got it back it is weird.....when you start it lags...like a 5 spd except you are letting out the clutch really slow. It takes about 5-10 seconds for it to actually engage like i think it should. I mean you can hear it in the engine too. it literally is exactly like a stick shift. I was just wondering if this is right or if i should take it back and have them look at it. It is under warrenty for a year but the only reason that i am hesitant is because they aren't really the fastest in repairing it. when i took it to them the first time they said that they would have it done in one week...two weeks later i finally got it. I am a college student and this is my only vehicle.

sounds like something isnt right, any auto trans should engage when ya put it in gear, unless youve got a stall convertor in it...If it was me Id have to call the shop and have some conversation with someone, I know its tough to be without a ride but they oughtta stand behind their work,

Yeah , as much as you payed to have it taken care of . If it's not right take it back . You know how it's suppose to feel . It could end up leaving you stranded somewhere .

Sounds like it's not building the right amount of line pressure which may very well be the trans pump. It could either be that or the torque converter has a problem.

i'll call them tomorrow and see what they have to say. I was thinking about taking to aamco for the free test thing and see what they have to say. see if they see the same thing. supposedly the torque converter was brand new, not rebuilt. but i just want to make sure that everything is good before my 12 month warrenty wears out.

It might be the governor pressure, they may have set it too tight as well, I know on the 727 you could adjust it pretty high, and it would do something like what your talking about also.. Hope they get ya straight...
