Default '10 Jeep Rubicon

Well folks I went to look at a '10 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon today. Not to worry I was looking to trade my go-cart ('11 Honda CRZ), not my Ram in on it.

They're out of their damn minds. It's listed on their website for $23995, they wrote it up for $26995 BEFORE they started talking about all the BS added fees etc.

Then they started talking about raping me on the trade. I did a little research before I went. I know the "basic" CRZ EX model is worth ~$15K give or take with "average" mileage. I've got extremely low miles... <4000, I've got quite a bit of add-ons: leather, wheels, what amounts to a body kit, and a few others.

He offered me $15K even. He was not willing to wiggle, was not willing to come off of the $26K on Jeep (even though the web site says $23K), and proceeded to try to explain that he was doing me a favor by offering what he was offering...

I'd done quite a bit of research on the newer Jeep Wranglers. To find one that is both a hard top, and a manual transmission is more than rare. I was beginning to believe that the only way to find one, was to special order it. This is only the 2nd one that I've seen ever, outside of a catalog. This so-called sales/ finance manager that I was talking to tried to tell me that when he was selling Jeeps new, last year they sold "a lot" of manual transmission Jeeps equipped with the hard top. I just didn't have the heart to argue with him. I was always taught not to fight with an unarmed man.

Thanks for allowing me to vent. I just have a low tolerance for stupidity.

I bought my 07 Rubicon used a few years ago and it is a manual transmission and hard top. It actually shipped from the factory with both tops but I guess the original owner sold off the soft top. Many Wranglers are sold with the duel top group. Me personally, I bought a stock soft top for mine and the hard top never went back on. I ended up selling it because it was taking up too much room.

As for the price, these Jeeps hold their value extremely well. Like I said I bought my 07 3 years ago. So about the same as what you are trying to do now with the 2010. Mine was in pristine condition and only had 15,000 miles on it. I paid $25,000 for it. So the price is at least in the ballpark. Are you looking for a 2 door or a 4 door? The 4 doors are a bit more. It took me about 6 months to find exactly what I was looking for too.

Mine has changed ALOT since I bought it. I posted pictures here in the "other vehicle" forum just the other day. Check it out.

I just parted with my 2010 Jeep Wrangler Sport JKU a couple months ago. 2012's have a Penstar engine in them that has a little more power. The new ones look too much like Mall Crawlers with the painted roofs, leather, and other fancy unneeded things. The newest mod (if you have $20,000.00-$25,000.00) is to put HEMI's in them.

I wasn't real serious about buying the Jeep. I would have been most excellent to have, but it's a matter of trading one toy for another. I don't actually need a 3rd vehicle, but I do like to play around when I have the chance.

I think the Jeep would be a lot more fun than my go-cart.. (pictured below)
