It's great to see so much positive feedback on this. In regards to this topic, I will have many more post in the future and I greatly appreciate any and all input.

Arth, I'm going to be on the look out for your truck when I get back to Lejeune. It's a beautiful truck so it won't be hard to miss.

I like your idea, & it would work
liability might be a major factor
the shop rental costs would be a determining factor, water, sewage, electricity, hazardous waste fees, etc. would have to be factored into what you would have to charge.

================================================== =================
In my large town, they have a high school that has a auto shop class for students during the day, part classroom lessons, part hands on in shop
the shop part of the class for the first couple months, the students can only work on school projects, vehicles & things like ATVs, lawn mowers that don't run, etc. that are either donated, ( these vehicles were auctioned off after repairs were made ), or if someone needs some work done & is willing to buy their own parts & let the students do the labor.
This same classroom & shop is used by non students after school hours. This night class allowed you to work on your own vehicles

the other class is at a college nearby, it was used by college students during the day & paying NON students at night, they have a area for brakes & alignment, complete with a machine shop. I don't know what other things they allow outsiders to do. The night class worked on their own or friends vehicles.

both non student functions were strictly run & if you missed 2 nights in a given amount of time, you were asked to leave, because there were always more people wanting your spot

Good Luck with your idea
