Default Older round headlight grille on an 89 ram

Has anyone swapped an older style 75 ish grille onto a late 80s truck? The rad support looks the same, what problems will I run into other than the lower panel, light buckets and brackets?

Well, I was checking the pick n pull website today, and noticed that a 76 dodge arrived on Friday. So, I headed down there and grabbed the grille, headlight buckets, and lower valance. I brought it home, and bolted it on. The grille works fine, but the valance and associated brackets need to be modified. The bolt-up was as far as I got today, as my girlfriend had the whole afternoon all planned out for me. Next week, i'll start with the grinder and mig welder. Photos forthcoming.

Here she is. As you can see in the side view, it's a bit askew. The lower valance doesn't match the curve of the fender. But the griille fits nicely. Naturally, the lower valance from the newer style grille doesn't even kind of work. So my plan is to fabricate a bracket for the center of the valance to pull it back in to line up the grille, and then make a filler panel to fill the gap between the valance and the fender. I'll update more as it progresses.

Reviving this thread, has anyone else done this? Curious because I need a new grill and really like the round headlight look better than the square
