Don't even bother with shorties, they are usually half the price of full pipes, and they don't give half the hp. I have seen average of about 5 to 7hp dyno pulls on shorties on base 300hp motors, and that is within a small window of the rpm range. You can't beat equal length long tube headers, or even unequal length long tubes. Shorties can't and I say again can not scaveng the gasses like a long tube, and then wierd short angles into the collector area cause huge turbulance just like regular exhaust manifolds. A whole lotta work, and bustin nuckles, problems with leaks and what not, and for a hint more hp. Not going to say that they don't help or work, but about 1/4 the power increase if that, for about half the price.

And yeah, if you have ever done long tubes before in comparison, I swear you will be set in your mind to never do shorties again, unless that is your only option. If you can't afford, them, then do lay a way or save up. It will be worth every penny, and put a smile on your face, as to where I have seen a lot of people walk away dissappointed with the shorties, for the time, money and work for such little gains.

I have long tubes on my 09 4x4 and I love them. I did have a slight issue with them fitting but ARH sent out a new header at their expense and it fit fine. They are expensive but I think it is worth it.

Shorties and an aftermarket torque converter (about $1000 for both) is a far better option than spending $1500 on longtubes.....The torque converter will get you off the line faster and put you in the range where you shorties shine and start to make good power (3600-3800rpm). With that money saved you can still buy a throttle body and still have some coin left over. Those 3 mods plus the standard CAI, y-pipe, and free flowing exhaust will get you moving pretty quick like.

well i already have a circle d converter, true duals with xpipe and magnaflows, k&n cai, 180 tstat, and 4.10s.. the shorties might compliment the other mods pretty good.. i also plan on a fastman tb just as soon as i get time to ship my extra tb to him

Then next year pro-charger or supercharger haven't made up my mind yet, or maybe go with a tuner ideal and do dual turbos we will see
You Need to post that dyno sheet of your 08... RIPP Superchargers Truck was laying down 430 hp at the wheels and thats the new 390 hp hemi not the old 345 like your 08.. how much work did you have done to the 08? because i want to do that to mine before i bolt on the Supercharger kit that i am helping RIPP make for the 3rd Gen HEMI rams... i'd have over 500 hp then
