Default Purchased a 1994 Dodge Dakota for $400 but has Wrong Tranny in it.

I purchased a 1994 Dodge Dakota for $400 Dollars. The truck looks great and has a great running engine, but someone installed a 1994 Dodge Ram 2500 transmission in it. Is there away to make this transmission work in the truck? Maybe changing the pinout of the transmission? The plug types are totally wrong for my truck.....Any help or suggestions would be great.

Connectors should be the same. Sounds like you may have a 1996 or newer transmission when they went to an electronic valve body. You're not gonna make it work with your setup.

i know one of my friends had a 2004 3.9L Ram engine that threw a rod though the case
it was mated to the OEM standard stick transmission

He took a 2009 Jeep engine, that had been rolled over, also a 3.9L & put it in his 2004

he did have to swap things like the timing chain parts, all the sensors, & the complete intake manifold, & maybe a couple other things
It ran like a champ

if the engines are the same, i would have to believe that standard shift transmissions would have to be the same way

No such thing as a 2004 or 2009 3.9 V6. There was a new 3.7 V6 introduced model year 2002, totally different animal.

Can you describe how the pin-outs are different?
