Default payload

Hello all new to this forum
I have a 2011 2500 Cummings my first diesel and I am looking at a 5th wheel RV. I have looked at the payload chart from Dodge and it says it is 2300lbs. The Rv I am looking at states the pin weight is 2500lbs gross weight is 14400lbs, I believe it is dry pin weight. Can I get away with air bags to make up the difference or am I chasing a dogs tail?
thanks for any and all comments.

Not sure about your question but you also need to consider gas and passengers and any kind of cargo that you have in your truck for the payload as well as the trailer.

weights also depend on body style & bed size

Optional is a 6.7-liter in-line-six Cummins turbo diesel engine that musters up to 350 hp at 3000 rpm and 650 ft-lbs of torque at only 1500 rpm to soar in the hefty league with towing weight capability exceeding 13,000 lbs. when properly equipped. The turbo diesel connects to a six-speed manual transmission with ultra-low first-gear ratio, or a six-speed automatic that's suited for towing.

Tow capacity for the Ram 2500 Regular Cab maxes at 13,500 lbs, while the Crew Cab Ram 2500 caps the tow load at 12,650 lbs. and the Mega Cab version runs to 12,850 lbs.

if you are referring to "tongue weight" your 2500 lbs seems pretty high. that being said, i always stay within factory spec regardless of any mods i add.
