I have a set of these on my truck, they have been on for 30,000 miles with a tire rotation every 5,000 miles & still look great. The only thing I can see is some slight rainbow effect in the inside corner of the spokes, it's slight but there. They look as good as the factory chrome clads when they are clean. I get tons of compliments on them. I would definitely recommend them.

They would have to be sanded for the paint to stick, mine have a chrome plating on them that paint wouldn't adhere too.

My aftermarket rim covers showed up last week and I immediately put them on, I couldn't be happier with them, they look great, hopefully they will stand up to our Canadian winters.

Personally I'm not into black rims, but why don't you just paint your stock rims if you want black?

From what I see, all brands are going to plastic because chrome doesn't last long.
BTW, nice looking truck!
The biggest reason is actually for fuel economy. Aluminum painted wheels with plastic chrome cladding are WAYYYYY lighter than an actual chrome wheel. Chrome wheels with tires in a 20" application can weigh in excess of 80 lbs a corner. As it is, we are at about 40. Thats a savings of 160 lbs of weight overall that your truck ain't haulin' around, using extra fuel.

I would just plasti-dip them personally. ZERO prep beyond cleaning is needed and if you get tired of it, peel it off and your chrome wheel covers are intact (not sanded) underneath.

Prolly will Plasti-Dip, still have 2 cans left from an earlier project. Was thinking of gloss spray paint just because of the gloss / shine. My truck is black and the step bars are gloss, thought the matte finish of PD might not match well.
