Default Looking to go to 22"

Another noob question-- I understand that there is a tremendous degree of variability here but how much would it cost to change my stock 20" tires and rims for a good quality set of 22" rims and tires for my 1500 sport? Would I have to change the suspension much? Just looking for a rough estimate. Thanks!

There's no way to price that...it's totally dependent on the wheel and tire you choose.
It could range from 1000 bucks for a Craigslist score to 15 grand for custom 3 piece wheels and the best tires money can buy.

1500 or so with wheels and tires. You wouldn't have to change anything up. That's for a set of cheap tires though. If you want a quality set of tires your looking at around 200 a piece for tires. Then wheels are around 1200 or so a set but if you buy a wheel and tire package I would say around 1500 like I said above. Most people recommend a 285/45/22 on a 9'-9.5' wheel and a 305/40/22 on a 10' inch wheel.

I'm not looking to go cheap. I figured around $2000-$2500 for the set-up would be reasonable. Any recommendations for rims and tires in that budget?

The RT 22's can be had for around that much. Honestly I have looked at tons of wheels and there is a big gap in between prices. It seems like the more expensive you get they get WAY over done unless you wanna roll like lil' Wayne. Then you start getting into performance wheels and they are much more than that. If you like the SRT wheels look for a set of those.

More n' more manufacturers are coming out with 22" wheels as they seem to be the "new" dubs from as little as five years ago.

If you're seriously considering going with 22" shoes, then don't limit yourself to the RT wheels alone. While they are [very] nice wheels, the 22" OEM RT wheels are mediocre - at best - when it comes to what's available at that size in terms of both appearence and quality.

Sure, as mentioned above, there are MANY variables to consider as your opening post is very vague [MT, AT, road tires, high performance tires, chrome wheels, suspension upgrade, etc...] and open to much interpretation, but IMHO I'm saying between 4K-5K will snatch you up a decent set of wheel/tire combo..... without knowing precisely what it is your preference is.

I don't think your estimate in reply 5 is reasonable at all if you're considering allocating no more than 2.5K for the whole thing; at least that's what past experiences have taught me.

Good luck.

I would say $1500-$2k for a basic set-up. There are tons of wheel/tire packages on craigslist from dealers

I spent about $1900 on my replica SRT's wheels and Nitto 420S tires. This is about entry level pricing for a decent quality setup. Mine ride VERY nice, BTW, Nitto's are the sh#t! Here's a pic of 'em (it just came off the jack, so the wheel gap is'nt as bad as it looks)...
