Angry Two piece driveshaft twisted apart?

Got a friend with a 03 2500 4x4 CCLB cummins 6spd manual w/ 5 in lift and 37's. it came with the ol 2 piece driveshaft with the carrier bearing. it has always wore out carrier bearings. the other day driving down the road, the driveshaft welds broke and the driveshaft slung out from under the truck. he's thinking of going the route of custom one piece made. im thinking the length and geometry isnt going to do very well for longevity. whats some solutions for keeping with the 2 piece?

naw. he just installed the lift and drove the sh*t outta it. i heard the mega cab frames come with a one piece driveshaft. but it wasnt like he broke u-joints. he actually sheared the shaft on the welds at the joint before the carrier bearing. only mods to the truck is CAI.
