i am running a 2.5 inch rough country leveling kit on my 2009 1500 sport and im running bfg at's 315/70r17 which are equivalent to 35's but they say they measure 34.6 and they do off the rim without air but once u mount them on a rim and fill it with air they buble out and actually shrink height wise. i thought the same thing when i mounted mine but they did actually loose about 3/4 of a inch once mounted. but full lock to lock i have no rubbing and i hit some trails and worked my suspension and had no issues.

All tires are not true to the size on the sidewall. I just bought 35" ATZ's and the website says they are only 34.5 OD. ALWAYS check MFG specs on the tire.

Hmmmmm, can't explain the shortness of your tires unless the weight of the truck does indeed make that much difference.

As for 35s and a leveling kit, I have read where several people are running 35x12.50x20 on leveled pre-2006 trucks. It's actually pretty common. Google it when you have some time to sift through the results and I think you will find many owners that say it will run just fine.

yes i was... why?
Then you are measuring a "loaded" tire..meaning the tire dia should be measured with no weight on it. Radial tires squat quiet a bit under load and that is why you are getting a "low" measurement. Try jacking it up to get the weight off and then measure.
