Personally I'd just get a muffler swap for like $200 or less, it'll perform identical to the cat back. And I'd go with a straight through muffler, not chambered. But it's your truck.

yeah the stock exhaust is pretty good. The restrictive points are manifolds, y pipe, and muffler. In fact, the stock pipe is better than what you'll get at an exhaust shop 99% of the time. It is stainless and uses mandrel bends, vs the exhaust guy's mild steel and crush bends.

I totally agree. That's a pile of money for an exhaust system....especially Slowmasters, lol. Obviously I'm not a huge fan of Flowmasters but as Sean said, it's your truck so it's all what you want. I would recommend Magnaflow or Dynomax. Corsa, Gibson, and Borla are all quality products as well but I don't know how they compare in the flow category. I would definitely go with the y-pipe swap and the muffler of your choosing and let the shop fab the exit however you want (dumped, out the back with some nice tips, whatever you like) and save that pile of coin for something else.

Depending on where your y pipe is i would not do the cat back i would do the true duals.
