Default McGaughys Drop Kit 44050

A buddy of mine wants to drop his 2012 standard cab Dodge Ram. I suggested the McGaughys Kit, but another one of his buddies told him that it will push his front wheels out. Dose anybody know if this is true? If so would the economy kit 44051 with front coils be better to keep the front wheels from being pushed out?

The spindle kit will move the front wheels out 5/8" or so on each side. The spring kit won't and will still align perfectly and ride great. I used the spring kit and couldn't be happier.

I used the delxue kit, and it does move out the front wheels as unbroken said. I was told by mcg that it would only increase the track width 1/2" total. It was more like 1-1/4 increase, or 5/8 or so per side.

I used the spindle kit on mine, too. These guys are right but I hardly notice mine sticking out unless I really look. The reason I went with the 44050 kit is I found a great deal online for it and picked it up for the same price as the 44051(and I didn't know McG's made only a spring kit, was comparing 44050 to a Belltech at the time). Spindles might ride a little better but it's hard to say since I haven't ridden in anything to compare.

I just recently put the mcgaughys spindle kit on my 2012 ram cc and i can tell you it will cause positve camber as well.i can also confirm the wider track width as well but to me its hardly noticeable.

I cannot imagine 5/8 of an inch wider track would be that noticeable.

Anyone have any comments regarding the before and after ride quality ?

Any pics of this kit installed ?

We're gonna do the kit with spindles. My buddy is keeping the stock wheels & tires on it for now anyway, the extra 5/8" shouldn't be a problem.

Very Cool. This may be the route I take with mine. Just doing my homework before pulling the trigger

Please post some thoughts on the spindles when you get em in.

Here's kind of a pic... You can see they stick out slightly farther than the back, keep in mind these are 305's on 10" rims. I'll try to get one tomorrow in the day time. As far as ride quality it's a little stiffer in the rear but the front rides like stock.

One from more to the side-

Edit- Went outside and took some okay pics, forgot my phone has flash

Front

Closer

Front looking toward the hood

Rear tire for comparison. It looks like it sticks out farther in the pic that it actually does, it's in the top of the fender but because the bed bevels so much at the bottom it looks pretty wide. If you look you can see the front tire sticking out, too. Didn't notice that until I uploaded it.
