Default Trying to fix "death wobble"!

I have a 2007.5 3500 mega cab. I put a 2.5 in Rough Country leavling kit on and now I have "death wobble". Most people are saying that a worn out track bar could be the problem? Any answers?

The kit has changed steering geometry. It could be trackbar bushings, but it could also be tierod ends. I know if the track bar is not parallel with the drag link, bump steer can occur. Death wobble is not caused by any one specific thing. Hope this helps.

Read this I found it to be very interesting. The part he bought was only $214. It might give you some answers.

This link shows how to install the part. Looks pretty easy, I think I'll get one for myself.

Hi

I had the death wobble on my 2003 2500 4X4 and I almost spent 1000$ for new balljoints but a misapp made me find my problem. I haul a fifthwheel and my tire inflation as a pull need to be 60 psi in front and 70 psi in the rear. I never had the DW while hauling the fifthwheel and I drove some time at 75 MPH. Now when not in tow Dodge suggest you deflate to 50 psi and for better comfort I went down to 45 psi. Over 60 mph if I hitted a bump or a small pothhole it started wobbling real bad and I had to get it down to 45 mph to stop it. Last time I hauled my fifthwheel I forgot to deflate after I was done and I went somewhere in a hurry and speed with fear of the death wobble but it never happened I drove in bumps at 75-80 mph and nothing hapened.

In talking with a tire guy he said that not all tires but most of them will create problems if under inflated especially the LT. So try to increase your PSI to a standard, it rides harder but it is a safer drive. It is a cheap trial and might fix your problem. Let me know the outcome.

Reggie

Try installing a good steering stabilizer if you dont already have one.
