Default What Vin D- Hemis can be used in our trucks?

Other day was driving and got off the freeway check gauges light popped on and oil pressure went to zero!... Pull over poured some oil in the truck started back up fine. Drove about 2 miutes and heard a tick that became louder and turned into a bad knocking sound....... I wanted to cry!

Sooo I guess it's time for another engine while that one gets inspected and rebuilt in the future hopefully..... hard to find the engines in massachusetts area!

If i remember correctly, if you use your old intake & heads, & all the sensors on just about any 5.7 L HEMI engine from 2002 MID YEAR on up
Including out of Jeeps & cars

The Ram 1500 starting in 2006 & newer had MDS & you don't want that, but you can use the short block out of them
None of the 2500 & 3500 models had the MDS, but you will still need your old intake manifold & all the sensors

There may be other things that i have forgotten, so double checking is in order

The '5.7 L Hemi' was released for model year 2003 on the Dodge Ram 2500 and 3500 pickup trucks to replace the Magnum 5.9 engine. It also replaced the 8.0L V-10 engine in the heavy duty Ram. As of 2004 it was the only available gasoline engine in the Ram Heavy Duty. Chrysler has since made the 5.7 L Hemi available in all models of the 2004 Dodge Ram, Dodge Durango, the 2005 Chrysler 300C, Dodge Magnum R/T, Jeep Grand Cherokee, the 2006 Dodge Charger R/T, and the 2009 Dodge Challenger R/T. For Challenger, the 6 speed version will not feature MDS.

2003 mid year. You can use any 2003-2008 car or truck hemi, as long as you remove the MDS solenoids, cam and lifters from any MDS equipped vehicle. As stated, 2500/3500's never got MDS. If you find a car long block to use you will need to swap your timing cover over before installing accessories. Use your sensors/sending units and accessories.
