I would if I were you. The idea of using the smaller bolts in larger holes will lead to issues down the road. The flex plate is about $50, so not a deal breaker. The smaller bolt heads are almost as large as the hole in the flex plate.

Couldn't I just go to ace hardware and get new bolts and maybe washers or will that screw up the balance of the torque converter

Think about what you are saying. These 4 bolts are the only things connecting your motor to your transmission. Do you want to make something work, or do you want to put the right thing in the first time?

No need to be harsh bud. Just asking questions. I'm not going to put this into the truck till spring probably. Now to more questions. Does the holes on the flex plate even match up from the old style converter to new flex plate at all. My company deals with fastenal and they can make special kind of bolts so if I can get the same thread bolt and a head that can maybe be a 16mm to 18 mm head. Or is it just easier to talk to Andre at edge and force him to by me a old flex plate. And right bolts.

I'm about to order a flex plate for my truck. Off eBay. And needed to know does the 2wd and 4wd have the same flywheel or flex plate. Plus same thing with the 4.7 and 5.7 do they still share the same one also. I need to know ASAP. Cuase I'm sitting on my other web page ready to order. And plus if any ine wants to know Andre is paying for it

Not being harsh just getting a point across. There are a few ways that you can fix the problem. You could send the TC back and have them correct the bolt issue. You could change the flex plate, I would only buy one for an '09-'11, that way you know it will fit. You could also have a bushing machined to insert into your flex plate that would fill in the hole and use the smaller bolts.
