Did you have any problems getting the lower strut bolt out? Mine seems seized in the bushing. We tried hammering & even using a puller to push the bolt out, nothing worked. I'm wondering if the lower control arm is holding pressure on the bolt, maybe my control arm either need jacked up or down more to free it up.

The bolt doesn't turn in the bushing !

The bolt is probably seized in the steel sleeve, within the bushing. Get out the torch!

If i heat it up & get the bolt out. Do you think the bushing is screwed?

Is the sleeve seperate from the bushing?

I just picked up new bolts, nuts & bushing

Are you replacing the strut? If so, it won't matter if you damage the rubber bushing, right?

Yeah I have a pair of Monroe quick struts I'm trying to put on.

Really worried about getting the new bushing in the control arms

I've got 230000kms on mine with factory shocks. I have a load in the bed often and can't afford to go with 4 new bilsteins, thoughts on shocks in the 35-50 dollar range? KYB's??? Skyjackers? I want this truck to be stiff as possible for the money. Stiff stiff stiff.

Ok, then i wouldn't be too worried about the old rubber bushing. When installing the new one, maybe put some type of lube on the bushing to help it along. I've even used Dawn dish soap, like when mounting tires, etc. You'd be suprised, lol.

Front struts. Not front shocks... Shocks are in the rear. BTW Rancho has pre loaded strut and spring. You don't need a spring compressor and it levels the truck.
