Default Tailgate freezes shut

I guess the tonneau cover rubber seal freezes against the tailgate because of the water that can sit on the spoiler part of the gate. What are you guys using to prevent this? I'm thinking of trying Pledge on the bottom of the seal on the tonneau.

There is a seal lubricant from gm you can buy for about $9 a can, it prevents moisture and helps keep the seals from drying

X2, I've heard of guys using this stuff on the sunroof rubber to keep it from drying out as well.

use something like FOOD GRADE SILICONE from 3M Products
or
3M Silicone Lubricant (Dry Type), 08897, 8.5 oz Net Wt,
High quality silicone lubricant which eliminates rubber squeaks, prevents sticking and seals out moisture. This product contains no petroleum oils to stain fabrics and will not freeze at -28 degrees F nor degrade at +350 degrees F.
you can even get it at SEARS

Thanks guys. The GM stuff is pricey. $74 from them according to what I researched out. I'll go for the food grade silicone and see how that works out.

Ah. Ok. Will do. THanks very much. Fortunately, there's a GM dealer right around the corner from my house. Never thought I would be going in there for anything. lol

If you want a real surprise at the GM dealership
buy some of their
HEAT RISER PENETRATING LUBRICANT
that may not be the name they use, but that stuff makes everything except KROIL penetrating fluid a runner up
I had forgotten about it, until someone mentioned GM products
