The following instructions are for the changing of a PCV Valve on a 2009 4.7L PowerTech V8. However, nearly every car will be similar in technique. Just look for the thing sticking out of the valve cover, with a hose going from it to the intake manifold/TB.
Step 1: Remove this hose:
Step 2: Unscrew clamps right behind the hose shown above (forgot to take a pic) on the main intake tube.
Step 3: Remove Airbox Cover, using clips:
Step 4: Remove Intake crosstube.
Step 5: Unplug this (MAF) sensor----
Step 6: Unbolt 1 10mm bolt right below that sensor. It holds the Intake-box-thing in place
. Yes thats the technical term.
This is what you should see:
On the drivers side/rear of the valve cover is the goal...the PCV Valve.
Step 7: Unclip PCV Valve, twist out and pull:
Step 8: Clean PCV Valve (I did as a temporary solution, due to work I cant get to autozone or the dealer till saturday), or Install a new one, and reassemble.
Hope this helps someone!
