Default Steering Wheel Conversion

My steering wheel has been worn down right to the metal at the top of the wheel. i've decided to replace the wheel because a wheel cover feels empty at the top because of the lack of material. I want to put on a steering wheel from a later 2nd gen truck because i think it looks cooler. Now can i make this conversion while still retaining the cruise feature? Is it just plug n play for wiring or do i have to do some modifying?

You'll need a steering wheel puller to replace the wheel. Probably can rent the tool from an auto parts store. As for connectivity, not sure if the later Ram's (98-02) are plug and play with older Ram's (94-97).
