Default 2013 Ford Raptor

I started to have bad thoughts that maybe I should trade in my RAM R/T and get one of these. I have always hated ford (with the exception of the bronco and 1970's highboy pickup trucks) but recently I've started to like some of their vehicle more and more. The 2013 fusion kind of looks like an aston martin, the 2013 mustang shelby gt500 is not only the most powerful v8 car in the world but it looks insanely badass.

And then there's the 2013 Raptor, here's some of the features:

http://www.ford.com/trucks/f150/trim/raptor/

This truck defines awesome. 411hp 431ftlbs of torque, optional REAL beadlock rims, front and rear mounted cameras, ONE FOOT of suspension travel front and rear, locking rear diff, 4.10 gears, huge track width, 35" tires from the facotry, ect ect ect...

And remember this stuff is all on a "off the lot" truck. Maybe its just me but this is one of the most awesome STOCK trucks I've ever seen. only downside, 11mpg.

I'll be keeping my R/T but I'm more than aware of this truck and maybe I've found my future winter ride. I know this truck has been around for a few years but the 2013 model seems to really have gotten things right. What do you guys think of it?

Honestly if I were looking to spend that coin on a high speed offroad capable gasser I'd probably get a Power Wagon and look at Ram Runner-ing it.

A coworker had the 1st gen Raptor and just traded it for an eco-boost FX-4 F-150...

You cannot install a true ram runner kit on a power wagon since it has a solid front axle. In my opinion a Raptor will do much much more than a power wagon but then they are built for two totally different things. Kind of pains me to say this because I've always hated Ford but I'd take a 2013 Raptor over a Power Wagon any day.

So the kit can only go on the 1500?

For me, the Power Wagon right off the showroom floor provides more real world off-road capability than the Raptor.

The co-worker who just traded his Raptor is a quiet guy with a very dry sense of humour. When guys would sit around trash-talking each other's trucks he'd take flack for the poor mileage, limited payload, etc he would joke, "Yeah, but anytime I need to go cross country, at 100 miles an hour, I CAN!" LOL

There's nothing wrong with that, but when most working stiffs look at putting big dollars into buying a new truck, they want more real world function and performance.

Well yea I agree, If you need a working truck the raptor is not the one to go with. Its a toy, much like the RAM r/t that I own.
