Question Changing Plugs and Wires in an 08 4.7

Well, i finally gave in and im going to change the plugs and wires in my 08 4.7. As far as i can tell there's the 8 on top and the 8 on the lower bank. Is there anything i should know before doing this. Ive never had a truck with 16 plugs before. Thanks

The lower 8 only require changing at 100k miles. The uppers can be replaced with the same plugs as the lowers for a longer change interval, if you so desire. You may need to purchase a different plug socket for the uppers because the tubes are very narrow and not all plug sockets will fit inside.

The truck has 113,xxx miles and as far as i know the plugs on the upper bank have only been changed once (it was recorded in the book at 56,xxx miles from previous owner.)

Gotcha. If it were me, I'd probably put Iridiums in both the top and bottom and not worry about them again for a long time. Make sure you use a dielectric grease on the inside of the plug boots and you can even dab on some antiseize on the plug threads for extra peace of mind.

Get ready for what 16 Iridiums are going to cost you....
