Default 2001 Ram 1500 NV3500 Question

I am helping a friend fix his truck. The transmission would not come out of fifth gear, and he forced it. Now he has neither reverse nor fifth gear. I have quite a bit of experience with most Dodge automatic transmissions, but not much with the manual transmissions. I was hoping his truck had the NV4500 because I replaced quite a few of the fifth gear nuts back in the late 90's.

Any information you might have would be greatly appreciated.

Well i can't tell you exactly how to cure prob but it sounds like linkage is jamed or broke. Or jamed syncroniser . You can buy rebuild kit from zone fairly cheap or look for nv 3500 in all dodged that have 3.9 or 5.2 eng from 94 to 01 I have a two wheel 5.2 with nv 3500 also if no luck there gm used them in 91 to 93 s10's with 4.3 and 2.8 6 cyl. That will help search.
