Default Heater/Defroster Fan problems

Last weekend my heater fan made a noise that sounded like a bearing going bad it did this for 10 min and went away was working fine after that. Now this week twice its done the following didn't want to go on high fan speed. Both times it started working after a short delay. It seemed like moving the heater control knobs def/heat and temp was just not working correctly. Medium speed doesn't seem right either. All this when we are having very cold weather single digit low tempt in Ohio. I plan to take it in only have 1500 mi left on standard warranty glad I have the extended warranty. Anyone else have this problem know if there is a recall on these heater fans ect...
