Default Stock HU new speakers?

I want to keep my stock head unit but would like some advice on some better speakers. I have read the fronts are 6x9 or 6 1/2?
Rear 5 1/4 ?
3-way over 2-way?
What is the specs for my stereo on a 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 Q/C 4.7
4 speakers?

I think speaker types/ manufacturers basically comes down mostly to personal preference and budget. The way to go for the best sound is components individually amped.

I personally like both 3 ways and 4 ways. When I'm replacing speakers I will generally go with 4 ways in the back, as this gives me a decent mix of highs, lows, and mids (actually 2 mids), and I go with 3 ways in the front as it does the same thing to a lesser extent.

Dependent upon my budget I"ll sometimes add an amp or two.

I've always been fond of Pioneer, as you get decent bang for your buck, but there are more manufacturers of decent speakers out there than can be mentioned in one post.

I'm sure someone will come along later that has more knowledge than I, as there are some kick ass systems on the forumz

good luck and keep us updated
