You're welcome! I lost low end for sure too with the 3". I went back to the 2 1/2" and all my power came back.

I'm guessing the stock pipe on your vehicle is 2 1/4 at the moment... But the size of the pipe all depends upon your engine and what exhaust setup you're running. For starters what vehicle are you questioning about and what engine is in it? Also what type of exhaust setup are you looking at running?

x2...it all depends on the engine and the mods on it...for most guys 3" is TOO big (and will lose low-end)..but, with my mods I needed 3" duals to get mine to perform at optimum..

Fred, you're right but most guys don't have as much power as you.

I've been told that "as a rule" if you've got less than 500hp at the crank that 2 1/2" tubes are right for true duals. If you have over that then 3".

that's true..when i was lightly modded I was running single 3" piping to 3"si/2.5" dual out muffler....

compare to now...

back then i thought my exhaust was pretty loud...but now realize it's tame..
