This is very good advice, it is never a good idea while the vehicle is running, unless it is mandatory for the project you are working on be safe everyone that is always number one when working on your truck

Thanks

I got a little lost when you mentioned about Hideing it from the consumer. How does this hide it? I still see a tone of yellow and white even with the TSB plastic contraption shoved in my oil filler cap.
Pull it out. I did, it will come right out and you can get rid of it. This is the TSB (thee isn't one for later years because it was incorporated into production). I personally think it doesn't do a damn bit of good so I got rid of it since all it seems to do is get in my way when I put oil in.

I am a little lost now. The trucks actually came with that slanted peace inside the oil filler cap but the TSB told mechanics to take them out???? or was the TSB instructed technicians to put them in??? I want to do what ever the TSB said.

The TSB originally was put in there back then to minimize the sludge coming up to the oil cap. Then they incorporated it on the production lines and ended the TSB.

My mechanic friend told me to pull that black dip stick thing out and leave it out. Said it makes the sludging thing worse somehow. Anyway, I did and that along with full synthetic has pretty much eliminated my sludging issues/
