I'm having problems with my radio in my '02 ram 1500 cutting out when the amplifier (factory) gets warmed up. I want to replace it, but I'm not certain as to where the heck it is in the first place. Someone said it's under the airbag, which seemed unlikely, so I'm hoping someone can tell me where to look. THANK YOU!
If the glovebox design hasn't changed, there will be two rubber "stops" on each side. Just pull those in and they will pop out of the grooves they ride in, and then tilt the glovebox forward. It will slide right out.
I have the same problem here. . .I have looked behind the glove box and behind the airbag - these seem to be where most people think it is - but I still can't find the thing!! I've looked at Chiltons which only has wiring diagrams but no remove/install instructions and no images or location!! WTF?? This is making me STUPID!!
Has anyone actually seen one? or can better explain the location??
The amps are inside the head unit, they're the size of your thumb nail. You might find a shop to fix it but you'll be waiting a while, They would rather have you buy a new one.
