Ok ive worked in tire stores for the better part of 5 years now and have seen sooo many truck tires that i basically know them all below is a list of the most popular brands truck tires and a 1-5 rating on them, hope this helps! Please let me know if you need help with deciding and sizing.

They are OK. They are quiet and look good but wet traction is not as good as a BFG AT. It isn't bad though. But, they are quite a bit cheaper too.

I did get a big tack nail in one of them and it didn't even go flat when I pulled it out. They are 10ply, E rated and pretty tough.

Just got some Yokohama Geolandar A/t-s in stock size. Should have them mounted this weekend and will post pics.

Do your sidewalls say 10 ply in the plies note for construction?
Al lot of tire stores use the term 10 ply rated....not the same as the actual construction; most are 3 ply at most.

I got 66K miles out of my Trail Grapplers and they'd still throw a little mud when I pulled them off last week. I can't say enough good about them. Unfortunately they've went up quite a bit since I bought mine and so I made myself a guinea pig for the Atturo Trail Blade MT. They look like a cross between a Toyo MT and a Trail Grappler. and were 289 a piece instead of 420 (made in Thailand). I would have sprung for more Trails but if I end up trading my my truck I'll be sick over losing those tires. I've used the Trail Blades in a low traction situation already. They aren't built as heavy or wide as the Nittos.

Hello, I need some advice, after reading the very useful guide posted here, in winter often face deep snow and muddy roads, but I also do several kilometers of paved road, having only such measures 275/60/20 "what do you recommend between the Nitto Terra grappler and Goodyear silent armor, reccommend from my mechanic at the time I have on my RAM the Goodyear aT w kevlar, and the grip, becomes clogged with mud very easily now, let alone when things get serious!!

Hi Ram Country, I have a 2011 Ram 4x4 and I am going to be putting leveling kit on. I want a set of tires that stick out about 1.5 to 2" more than my stockers. I'm currently running 20" from the factory. I want to go down to 18" wheels but keep the same tire hight as the stock tires. So I have 2 questions. 1) what should my offset and back spacing be, for the wheel. 2) which is a better tire, General Grabber, Micky Thompson STZ, Toyo open Country, BFG A/T, or any thing you recommend with this tread style. Any help would be appreciated.

Great info, thanks for compiling all of that!

I'm trying to find info/opinions on the Mickey Thompson Baja Radial STZ. Every time I do a search for the STZ, the search engine strips STZ out and gives me everything Baja.

Does anyone have any experience with this particular tire?

Replacement tires

I have always had sidewall puncture issues and traction issues with the stock 275-60-20 tires.i am currently running at2 michelins.i have a 2006 1500,4x4,quad cab laramie with a 3:90 rear.my current longtime tire dealer thinks 20s are more problematic than 17s.does anyone have an opinion?

My 275 65 20's got sliced in the back country. I have no idea if it had anything to do with the size. I just know that I couldn't stand to pay the price for 20 inch off road tires. Went to 17's.

Love that list! What a great service. One question: I have a 2011 Ram 1500 Sport, regular cab. I want to put larger tires on it, either 33s or 35s, so I know I will need 2.5" of lift. I want an aggressive tread, like a mud tire, but I want to be able to plow in the winter too. Do you have any recommendations for a dual nature tire like that?

I just finished the lift on my reg cab and I got some federal cougaria MT's in 35x12.5r20. I know a lot of people run them so I wanted to get some opinions on the air pressure everyone runs to get the best ride, handling, and mileage out of them. On my 13 I had 285/60r20's gy duratracs and they ran good at 42-44 psi. I have the federals at 40 right now and they ride good but feel like they should be a little firmer on turns.

new to the forum - need advice on tire size and lift options

Hello folks! I don't know if this is where I should be posting this or not - I own a 2008 Ram 1500 Laramie quad cab 4wd. It came with the stock 20 inch Chrome wheels. I put a Rancho 2 inch leveling kit on it about a year ago and now it is time for new tires (it currently has the stock tires on it). I am possibly interested in keeping the original wheels/rims but want to go with a more aggressive looking and taller tire. Any advice on how big I can go tire size wise without a lift kit? Any information on how big I can go without A LOT of rubbing (minor rubbing at max turn wouldn't bother me)? Any suggestions for tire brands that look aggressive? The more noise roar on the highway - the better - if you ask me!! Also considering going with a smaller wheel to make the tires look bigger - any idea how small of a rim I can put on this truck? I would love to put 35 11.50 15's and run some super swampers but don't know if I can get away with 15 in rims. Any advice and thoughts are much appreciated.Thanks for the help!!

Great choice. I've been researching this tire for months. It gets awesome reviews. I'm searching for just the right deal and when I find it, I'll be putting these on. People running them say that they are very quiet on pavement and competent in off road situations. And to top it off, they last a long time. I also like how they look.
Interestingly, not all Cooper truck tires get the same great reviews tho. So only take this positive review talk as far as the AT-3. I wouldn't buy the Zeon, for example..

I am looking at getting the Nitto Trail Grappler tires. I want to know about which specific one to get. What is the differences between the tires in this line and what should I look at as far as sizes?

I am new to all of this and I want to spend my money wisely.

I've been trying to decide what to put on my ride this fall before winter comes. The Hankook Dynapro AT-M was just rated as one of the best on/off road tires. Does anyone have any experience with this tire? Curious about winter driving as well since I live in West MI and we get over 100" every winter. What are your thought? Thanks
