Well after a two day wrestling match with my Ram I finally got the daystar 2.5F 1.5R leveling kit in. The rears took me about an hour after collecting all the proper tools, but ran out of light. The fronts spindle bolts were rusty enough to need pb blaster.....after a year on the road....interesting. But the fronts in total probably took me about 2 hours, finally finishing up at 4 o clock. Tomorrow the alignment... I drove it to go vote and snap a few shots, Overall Very impressed. I like the new stance and I actually think it drives alittle better, but thats just my mind playing tricks and NO DEATH WOBBLE thank god. Oh and Hello! First post, been ghosting for awhile, finally had something to say.
Well here it is... Before (gray sky) and after (blue Sky)
keep us updated on the level kit. been hearing alot of horror stories about the plastic spacers in the CV joints going bad. I have been looking for so long on different kits and it seems that every kit has its own problems, take that back most of the 09 rams are having problems with the kits.
Its a 4wheel, No the back axle was still "in allignment" when i got the allignment paper work. I did not remover any bolts from the back, just used a spring compressor and pulled the back coils. I did Check for wobble in 4wd, no wobble...again.. thank god, I did not wanna take all that sh*t off. Howeve now i want more...body lift anyone
just to help clarify the above question. when you lift or lower a vehicle that does NOT have an adjustable trackbar the rear axle will move left or right depending on how the bar is attached to the frame and axle (i.e. which end of the bar attaches to the frame and which end to the axle). now how far depends on how much you lift/lower also. if you drop a plumpbob from each rear fender to the center of the rim I think you'll see what I am talking about.

here are some pics. I would make 2 plump bobs out of string and washers and then use some blue painters tape to hang them. hang one on each rear fender centered so the washer ends up around the wheel center cap. then measure the gap between the string and the tire. compare the two sides to get and idea if your axle is centered or sitting to the driver or passenger side. if the string to tire gaps are withing 1/4" of eachother I wouldn't worry about it UNLESS you are lowered and tire rubbing might be an issue. If you feel like you need/want to center your axle then order an Adjustable Track Bar.
Hope this helps.
so there is no confusion this only applies to the rear axle.
Looks great even turned the sky blue. sorry I couldn't resist. I wanted to see if you really got 2.5 inches out of those because a just my 2 inch leveling kit in the mail for my 2WD and the amount that it would actually lift doesn;t appear to be more than an inch although I can't tell for sure. Thanks Ed
Looks real good . Love the look of a leveled truck . I think the issue with a adjustable track bar only effects trucks with straight axles where there are track bars already installed . My front on my Ram needs it . When leveled the track bar became shorter , causing the differential to shift .
