Does anyone know if going up one inch in diameter is going to cause any driveline or mileage issues on my sport? I need new rubber for the summer and the ones i want are one inch larger in overall tire diameter than the goodyears that came off it. I know its probably a dumb question but i dont want to give up any mileage or put any strain on the driveline i know its got enough power to turn them but should anything be re calibrated like the speedometer or shift points in the tranny>? any help would be great:doh::4-dontknow:
If its a concern to you then its not a dumb question......Going up one inch is no big deal and won't strain anything. The only thing it will affect is very slight mileage and the spedo will be off a touch. It will be so minimal you likely won't notice any change. When you do switch just use a gps unit to see your difference in ur spedo but like I said it'll be minimal
On my older truck, the dealership changed my tire size selection through their computer. That recalibrated the speedometer to now match the speed on my GPS unit.
Great stuff guys. Anyone know or have pics of a '12 sport with a levelling kit (2") and say a 275/65/20 BFG on stock wheels? Just want to get an idea what mine would look like with a higher snout. This website is awesome!
In the Guide to Leveling & Wheel and Tire Sizing linked in my signature there's a number of links to different set ups. I believe there's one with that set up by user DAA.
