because this would be the easiest filter change on any car,truck,boat or motorcycle I have ever owned . if the cover just pulled off. so I will notch it so filter clears with ease.
I just unclip the air cleaner cover, loosen the clamp at the throttle body, unplug the ATI sensor, and the hard part is unplugging the make up air tube. Then pull up the cover from the rear and remove everything. I don't bother to unclamp the air tube from the air box cover to the engine cover..
Installing I put a little WD-40 on the rubber mounting holes and push in place.
I think Ram should have made the oil filter easier to get at. JMO
Ditto on easy removal and replacment without taking the cover off. One tip: Get a white or silver marker and mark where the top meets the base so that you can tighten the cap the right amount. I didn't think that tip up but used it.
