hello all,
so i bought a tow mirror from a guy for dirt cheap because the puddle light was not working on it, so i did some research and decided to try and see if i could change the puddle light by myself and save the dodge shop rate ($$$$). so i went in and ordered the part i needed:

drivers puddle light: 68087239AA
passenger puddle light : 68087238AA

since the light is not installed it made it alot easier,

where the "outer ring" of the light has a gap you can get a flat head screw driver or knife in my case in and pry it up and it will pop out,

there is two connectors on the back of the light that you just pull of and insert into the new on and pop the new one back into the housing making sure that all the wires are tucked in properly

as you can see on the back of the old one there is rust and corrosion in the "sealed" housing

part number

the new light cost roughly $50 bucks up here in canada.
hope this hwlps someone save some cash!

the mirror was off a 2010 ram so only a couple years old, dodge has a issue with corrosion and such on there puddle lights and signals on all there 4th gen trucks, ive been thinking about seeing if i could seal it up more but it looks like the water got in right at the connectioins.

3M and Dow Corning both make products to seal electrical connections in moist situations, like marine and landscaping situations.

They are like a caulking of mastic.

I can not think of the names of the top of my head but any Marine shop could lead you in the right direction.

Update:
Some links for one of the 3M products

Here is what I have used in the past to seal connection on trailer lights --> Star brite Liquid Electrical Tape.

in the original post it had 2 part numbers:
drivers puddle light: 68087239AA
passenger puddle light : 68087238AA
the dealer tried to pull that on me but i just gave them the proper number and they pulled it up right away
